I am Jhay Manalo, 21 years old, born on September 29, 2004. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English at Lady of Lourdes of Caybiga Inc. As a dedicated student, I strive to balance my academic responsibilities with my creative passion, which lies in the field of multimedia and graphic design. At school, I am an active member of the LLC Editorial Team, where I contribute as an editor of publication materials for my section and the wider school community. Beyond editing, our team also organizes school events, giving me the opportunity to collaborate with fellow students, plan meaningful activities, and develop leadership and organizational skills.

To further enhance my expertise, I am currently taking an online course at TESDA in Graphic Design to gain technical knowledge and practical skills that I now apply in various projects. Beyond school, I serve as a Multimedia and Graphic Designer at JCCF Church, where I create and edit visual content that supports our ministry’s mission of spreading God’s Word. These experiences have deepened my passion for design and instilled in me a strong sense of service, discipline, and commitment to excellence.

In addition to my work in academics and design, I am also gifted in the field of music. I can play the piano and ukulele, and I use these talents to compose original Christian songs that reflect my faith and devotion to God. I also have a passion for singing, which I express both in personal worship and in church ministry. Through music, I am able to inspire others, share the message of faith, and further strengthen my creative identity.

While I continue to grow in the fields of design and music, my ultimate dream is to become a professional English teacher. I envision combining both my love for teaching and my creative abilities to inspire students, communicate effectively, and make learning more engaging. With every step I take—whether through academics, editorial work, design projects, music, or event organizing—I am preparing myself to become not only a skilled educator but also a creative professional who can make a meaningful impact in both the classroom and the community.

In 2021, I took the first step into the world of creativity by launching my own YouTube channel. At that time, my content was centered on DIY tutorials, where I enjoyed sharing practical and creative ideas with others. Editing was not yet something I envisioned myself doing seriously. Back then, the only editing I did was for my own video thumbnails, which were simple, raw, and far from professional. Looking back, I laugh at how unpolished those designs were, but I also feel a sense of pride, because those humble beginnings marked the starting point of a skill that has now grown into a true passion. Over time, I realized that what once felt like a challenge gradually became a craft I wanted to master.

In 2022, I took my editing journey a step further when I joined the Official CapCut Philippines Group. Becoming part of this online community gave me the chance to explore editing on a deeper level. I started creating templates, experimenting with transitions, and sharing creative outputs that people could use in their own projects. More than just a hobby, this opportunity allowed me to earn through GCash, proving that creativity can also become a source of income. It was exciting to be recognized as an editor in a large online group, but as time went on, I faced moments of exhaustion. Constantly producing templates and videos became overwhelming, and I felt the need to pause. It wasn’t an easy decision, but stepping away gave me time to reflect on how I truly wanted to grow as a creator.

Then came a turning point in 2023, during the ber months. My sister, who was balancing work and church responsibilities, asked me to help her with a task that would later shape a new path for me. She had been editing materials for our church worship services, but her busy schedule made it difficult to manage. Out of trust, she handed the responsibility over to me. That very first project was my introduction to multimedia ministry, and it sparked a new sense of purpose in my editing journey. At first, I was unsure if I could meet the expectations, but as I worked on those edits, I realized that I was not just creating content—I was serving God through my skills. From that moment on, I became actively involved in editing for our church services, and to this day, I continue to contribute my abilities for God’s glory.

However, my journey in the multimedia ministry was not without struggles. There were moments when some people at church questioned my place in this ministry. They would say that this is not my true calling, reminding me that my first ministry was being a Song Leader. Even if my church leader already knew and supported my involvement in multimedia, there were still individuals who would ask why I was serving in this area instead. At times, their words made me feel discouraged, as if I had to defend the work I was doing for God. Yet through prayer, reflection, and the encouragement of those who trusted me, I realized that ministry is not about where people think you belong, but about being willing to serve God wherever He places you.

This experience strengthened not only my skills but also my faith, teaching me that serving the Lord may not always be easy, but it is always worth it.

Currently, I am also part of the LLC Editorial Team in school, where I help in organizing events and producing creative outputs that contribute to our school’s community. This experience allows me to collaborate with other talented individuals, refine my skills, and learn the value of teamwork in achieving bigger goals. Being part of both church and school organizations has shaped me into someone who is not only committed to excellence in media but also dedicated to serving others through creativity.
Looking back, what started with a single YouTube thumbnail has grown into a journey of personal growth, skill development, and meaningful service. My story is a reminder that every step, no matter how small or imperfect, can lead to greater opportunities. I continue to push myself to improve in multimedia editing, design, and creative storytelling, with the hope that my work will inspire others and honor God.
